hey - i just read that it's possible to use a consumer-grade computer scanner to digitize film for editing; but i was wondering if anyone had ever built a real transfer unit? is it possible, or would it just be too expensive/time consuming? at $40/roll, sending your film off to an editing house for them to do it seems kind of out of reach..
